Statement Regarding Calum Davenport’s Injury
Submitted by Frances Lynn on Wed, 23/01/2008 - 10:45am.I am sure that all Watford supporters will join the board of the Supporters Trust in sending their good wishes for a speedy recovery to Calum Davenport. Following Danny Shittu’s departure for the African Cup of Nations, Calum’s arrival had been universally welcomed. His debut appearance, after only having met his teammates the previous day, was very encouraging indeed. His defensive qualities were quickly apparent, and he demonstrated clear leadership in helping Jay to organise from the back.
Statement Regarding Gavin Mahon’s Departure
Submitted by Frances Lynn on Wed, 23/01/2008 - 10:43am.The board of the Watford Supporters Trust would like to send their good wishes to Gavin Mahon following his move to QPR. Gavin was a surprising addition to the squad during the Vialli season, coming in following a recommendation from Ray Lewington who had worked with him at Brentford, and was one of the few that stayed following the Italian’s departure. Injury, and his employment as a utility player playing out of position, meant that early impressions of Gavin were not positive. But he went on to settle in the holding midfield role and become Player of the Season in 2003/2004.
Statement Regarding Granting of Al Bangura’s Work Permit
Submitted by Frances Lynn on Fri, 18/01/2008 - 1:43pm.The board of the Watford Supporters Trust was delighted to hear that Al Bangura has been granted a permit to continue his football career in the UK. The uncertainty under which he has had to live during this time has caused great distress to Al and those who love him, so it is a great relief to know that the uncertainty is over and he can concentrate on regaining his fitness and bringing up his son, secure in the knowledge that he can continue his life in safety in this country.
Statement Regarding Keith Burkinshaw’s Retirement
Submitted by Frances Lynn on Fri, 18/01/2008 - 1:42pm.The board of the Watford Supporters Trust would like to express their gratitude to Keith Burkinshaw following his retirement from the role of Assistant Manager at Watford FC.
When Aidy Boothroyd arrived at Watford in 2005, the addition of an assistant with the wisdom and experience that Keith brought to the role was a great reassurance to the fans.

Statement from Watford Supporters Trust Regarding Al Bangura
Submitted by Doug Lawson on Wed, 12/12/2007 - 8:15am.Statement from Watford Supporters Trust Regarding Al Bangura
It was with shock and disappointment that the Board and members of the Watford Supporters Trust (WST) heard today that Al Bangura’s application for leave to stay in the United Kingdom has been turned down by the Asylum and Immigration authorities following the recent hearing.
According to the Home Office website, three of the four criteria on which an application may be assessed are:
• your ability to contribute to the economy;
• your risk of persecution in your home country;
Chairman’s Address to AGM of Watford Supporters Trust
Submitted by Doug Lawson on Tue, 04/12/2007 - 8:49am.Chairman’s Address to AGM of Watford Supporters Trust
Graham Sterry – 22 November, 2007.
The twelve months since our last Annual General Meeting has seen not only your Board Members of Watford Supporters Trust change but also our aims and objectives.
With our promotion to the Premier League, it was felt that the old raison d’être of ‘Keeping professional football alive at Vicarage Road’ was no longer an appropriate reason for our continuing existence.

Election of Board Members
Submitted by Doug Lawson on Wed, 24/10/2007 - 6:37am.Our Rules/Constitution require that a third of the Board retires each year thereafter so that, on an ongoing basis, no director can in future serve three years without seeking re-election, whilst maintaining necessary continuity in the operation of the Board. In order to comply with this rule, Graham Sterry and Alice Arnold will be retiring and applying for re-election at this AGM.
